Getting Started with Activities
Having all your project's data hosted securely in the cloud and available to your whole team is pretty cool. But you know what's really cool? Having data that knows its role in your project—whether it was the output of an experiment, or the input of an analysis, or maybe both. Cooler still is seeing the whole web of connections between your data so you can communicate and visualize how your project evolved.
Activities, a core feature of Ovation, are the building block of the data behavior described above. Create an activity to represent your experiment or analysis. On the activity interface, you can easily drag and drop your files into the appropriate boxes to indicate the part those files played in an experiment or an analysis. Collecting metadata on an activity is easy too...you'll never lose track of who conducted an experiment or the version of software you used for an analysis. Below, we walk you through the process of starting an activity and adding data to it, so you can bring your data to life and communicate the connections between everything in your project.
